About Debbie Dillion

 

Debbie Dillion holds a degree in Landscape Design & Urban Horticulture from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville and a MS in Horticulture from Virginia Tech. She is also a Certified Arborist and Certified Horticulturist.  She has received awards from the Virginia Department of Agriculture Plant Board as a member of Extension Agent Teams who have conducted Pesticide Safety Education training for the professional green industry. She has also been a recipient of the Byron Wates Award (an annual award given to a person for outstanding contribution and dedication to the green industry in the Northern Virginia area) from the Northern Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association. She serves on the Board of the Northern Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association, the Northern Virginia Community College Horticulture Program Advisory Committee, and on the Board of the Piedmont Blue Ridge Horticulture Society which she helped establish. Debbie began her career with Virginia Cooperative Extension in 1994 and has been the Urban Horticulturist/Master Gardener Volunteer Program Coordinator in Loudoun County since 2001.

In her talk, It's a Small World -- Small Fruit that is!  Debbie will discuss her experience growing blueberries and blackberries and touch on the basics of other commonly grown small fruits.
